Musheerah “Shalom” Kolen (3 P/A Fall 2002, Company R-4-5) is the President and Founder of Kolen Services. She is originally from Newark, New Jersey, but lives and operates her IRS Tax Representation Practices in Fredericksburg, VA. She is an IRS Licensed Enrolled Agent and represents clients before the Internal Revenue Services.
Shalom has a unique education background in business; she completed her undergraduate degree at Norfolk State University in Finance and her graduate degree in Human Resources Management. She is a Certified Financial Education Instructor and an Enrolled Agent licensed by the Internal Revenue Services. She has a Series 6/63 license, as well as, a Life & Health Insurance license. Shalom is a Registered Representative with HDVest Investment Services, and a Life Insurance Agent with HDVest Insurance Agency.
In her professional experiences, she has worked in every capacity relative to her education background as a practitioner and as an educator. She has served over 10 years in the United States Army as a Human Resources Officer and trainer. As an educator, she has worked as a Human Resources adjunct professor for the University of Maryland University College, and as a Training and Development Professor at Georgetown University. She has also taught the Commonwealth of Virginia life insurance pre-licensing exam course, and coached financial services agents in passing the series 6 and 63 exam.
Currently, Shalom owns and operates a Full Services Tax Accounting & Financial Services firm specializing in solving IRS tax problems and promoting financial literacy. She is a proud member of the National Financial Educators Council and the National Association of Enrolled Agents. She is proud to represent her sorority, the National Society of Pershing Angels, and to support the entire Pershing family as the Financial Advisor and Accountant.
